Geopacific Resoources has a new leader at the helm of its exploration function, with Glen Little signing on as Chief Geologist this week.
The experienced geologist and mining executive has more than 25 years of experience spanning exploration, resource development, project generation, strategy and business development. He has worked across the global mining industry, with roles in Australia, Canada, Kazakhstan and Portugal, and mines working with gold, copper, base metals, and critical minerals.
In what is a newly-created role, Little will be responsible for driving Geopacific’s exploratiuon and resource growth strategy around the Woodlark gold project. He will oversee the ongoing 30,000 metre reverse circulation and diamond drilling campaign, which is designed to expand known mineralisation and test multiple new target areas.
At the same time, Little will support delivery of a definitive feasibility study (DFS) for the project.
Geopacific chief executive officer James Fox said the appointment, and the new role, highlighted the company’s confidence and ambition around its key Papua New Guinea (PNG) asset.
“We are delighted to welcome Glen to the team at such a pivotal stage for Geopacific,” he said.
“His extensive technical expertise and leadership in successfully growing resources across multiple jurisdictions will be invaluable as we continue to advance Woodlark through exploration success, resource expansion, and delivery of the DFS.”
Little himself said he was excited to be working on a unique PNG gold project.
“I have had the opportunity to evaluate a number of projects globally, and Woodlark stands out as a unique opportunity to create real value,” he said. “The combination of an established 1.67 million ounce resource, significant exploration upside, and a clear pathway through feasibility makes this an exciting time to join.”
