Kumul Petroleum Holdings (KPHL) has put the community first, donating vehicles and books to key groups.
Students at the Mount Diamond Adventist Secondary School were given 200 books titled Law Awareness for Papua New Guinea by local author Stanley Liria along with 200 books by Marleen Toliman Akop titled The PNG Dream.
“KPHL is known for its support to the health sector and a number of sporting codes but it also has a focus on education and training, evident through the operation of the Kumul Petroleum Academy and assistance to the engineering department of the University of Technology in Lae,” KPHL government affairs manager Mark Pyambao said.
“However, the company also wants to see students at secondary and primary school levels demonstrate excellence in their academic performance and such books by PNG authors will inspire students to dream big.”
KPHL also donated a photocopier and printer to the school to enhance teaching efficiency.
Elsewhere in PNG, KPHL donated five vehicles to the Southern Highlands Provincial Government to assist with administrative functions.
“Kumul Petroleum has assisted with rural electrification, health infrastructure and community service support programs in the province and we are grateful for this support,” Southern Highlands Province deputy administrator David Kelma said.
“Today, Kumul Petroleum has come onboard again to support our police and the administration with this small fleet of vehicles.”
The vehicles will be fitted with a police radio and lights before being used by the police operating in the area.
