Engineering company Monadelphous has secured new construction and maintenance contracts and extensions totalling approximately $170 million.

These contracts include working with Santos in PNG, as well as major miners Fortescue, Rio Tinto, BHP and Lynas Rare Earths.

Santos has awarded Monadelphous a three-year services contract to continue providing sustaining capital projects and maintenance support in the Southern Highlands region.

In Australia, Lynas has awarded Monadelphous a construction contract for its Mount Weld expansion project in the Goldfields region of WA, with the scope including structural, mechanical and piping works.

Monadelphous will also be at work in the Pilbara region, with BHP extending its master services agreement for general maintenance services at its iron ore operations through to June 30 2025.

BHP has also given Monadelphous a one-year extension to its mechanical and electrical maintenance, shutdown and project services contract at its nickel west operations.

Staying within the Pilbara, Rio Tinto has given Monadelphous a one-year extension to sustaining capital works master services agreement across its iron ore operations.

Fortescue’s Anderson Point iron ore stockyard in Port Hedland, WA, will benefit from Monadelphous’ work with a new multidisciplinary construction contract for upgrades.

These contracts build on the $200 million contract for construction work that Monadelphous received from Albemarle in June.

“We are very pleased to have Monadelphous back onboard for the construction of processing trains 3 and 4,” Albemarle vice president, capital projects Australia Josh Rowan said at the time. “Their ability to deliver the works safely and at schedule is critical to the project’s success.
