One of Ok Tedi Mining’s (OTML) landowner companies took home the Outstanding Landowner Shared Value Performance Award at the recent PNG Resources Week.
Fubilan Catering Services (FCS) received the award for its performance in economic and social progress within its community.
OTML managing director and chief executive officer Kedi Ilimbit said the company was proud of FCS’ achievement.
“Their commitment to excellence in workforce development, health and safety, compliance, and community engagement aligns perfectly with our values,” he said. “We look forward to continuing our strong partnership and driving positive change together.”
FCS general manager Unni Meetinay said the award was recognition of the company’ ongoing commitment to creating shared value.
“This award underscores our ongoing commitment to creating shared value and fostering strong relationships with our clients in driving their strategies and visions,” Meetinay said.
“It is definitely a proud moment for us as a company and a testament to our commitment to community development and sustainable practices.”
Both Ilimbit and Meetinay hope that the award will serve as inspiration for other landowner companies to follow in FCS’ footsteps. One of OTML’s objectives is to support local landowner business entities that can provide goods and services to the mining sector but also continue to be sustainable after mine closure.
