When TriCab returns to the PNG Expo in 2025, it will be showcasing tough, tailored cable solutions and strong commitment to regional mining growth.
Following a strong showing in 2024, TriCab is once again set to take centre stage at the 2025 PNG Industrial and Mining Resources Exhibition and Conference (PNG Expo).
Returning as a silver sponsor, the Australian cable manufacturer is excited to continue showcasing its commitment to innovation and its expanding presence across the Australasian and Pacific markets.
“Supporting a prestigious event like the PNG Expo is a way for TriCab to demonstrate a broad range of industry and mining experts our ability to supply not only standard cables, but also to design and deliver bespoke solutions tailored to site-specific needs,” TriCab state manager for PNG Shane Plumridge told PNG Mining.
TriCab’s involvement last year offered outstanding exposure and valuable connections, cementing the brand’s position as a reliable and forward-thinking cable partner in the region.
The 2024 event was more than a display of products – it was a chance to engage directly with the challenges and requirements of those on the ground.
The result? A clear decision to come back in 2025 with more to share.
Much of TriCab’s momentum over the past year has been driven by its engineering advancements in cable design for rugged environments.
The development of a leading thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) jacketed cable – specifically tailored for the harsh demands of mining and industrial sites – has been one of the company’s standout achievements.
Designed to meet the high expectations of site engineers, the new jacket delivers superior durability, flexibility, and resistance under extreme conditions.
“TriCab has been involved with a number of industrial and mining sites through the last 12 months and is keen to expand this in 2025,” Plumridge said. “Our heavy-duty SWA [steel wire armoured] cables have also made a welcome return to the TriCab family, and we now offer a full range of MV [medium voltage] cables to suit the needs of modern operations.”
These advancements reflect TriCab’s deeper push into customisation and problem-solving. With more than four decades of cable manufacturing expertise, the company prides itself on being able to respond quickly and intelligently to evolving industry needs.
Showcasing expertise in PNG
This year’s PNG Expo will see TriCab display a comprehensive range of mining and industrial cables, including its newest H7 TPU cables, standard MV products, and Trailing cable series.
Visitors can also expect to see the company’s existing line-up of variable frequency drive (VFD) and variable speed drive, Control, and Instrumentation cable solutions, highlighting the length and breadth of TriCab’s capabilities.
While TriCab’s reputation in Australia is well established, the company is now doubling down on its ambitions in the PNG market. With deep historical ties to projects across the country and a keen understanding of the local operating environment, TriCab is positioning itself as a long-term partner to PNG’s growing industrial and mining sectors.
“As mining operations expand across PNG to meet global demands for raw materials, TriCab is ready to support these efforts,” Plumridge said.
“Our experience in the Australian mining sector, combined with our growing cable range, means we’re well-placed to contribute meaningfully to PNG’s future.”
